The National Youth Chef Training Programme delivered through the good offices of the National Department of Tourism and the Expanded Public Works Programme kicked off in 2011. Educational partner to the programme, The Swiss Hotel School has been involved since day one.
These students who work within the industry as well as attending school one day per week challenge the City & Guilds of London culinary examinations at the end of each year.
To date some 2,000 participants have benefited from the programme.
At this graduation some 170 students from North West and Gauteng provinces received their certificates and medals from Deputy Minister of Tourism, Elizabeth Thabethe, for the year ended July 2018. Of this number, 34 attended the Swiss Hotel School for their academic studies. Many achieved Merits and Distinctions.
We are hugely proud of their efforts.
